Mother-Baby Project

This study is a collaborative effort between the University of Minnesota and Hennepin Healthcare Mother Baby Program. A primary aim of this study is to create an integrated clinical and research approach that examines the cognitive strengths and challenges of pregnant women and mothers with and without emotional distress. The study involves the completion of multi-modal measures of psychological symptoms, and cognitive and functional outcome measures, as well as personalized feedback for each participant at two time points. Given the limited understanding of cognitive profiles during pregnancy and postpartum, and especially within the context of perinatal distress (e.g., depression, anxiety), this research may help individuals and providers make informed treatment decisions.

Objective

The objective of the Mother-Baby study is to establish measurement based care for pre- and post-natal mothers and determine population characteristics.

Population

The population being studied includes pregnant women and women up to 5 years post partum who receive treatment at Hennepin Healthcare and UMP clinics.

Study Design

This study is a longitudinal, observational study of assessments of functioning, behavior, and cognition, tailored to mothers.
