Objective

The objective of the Mini-COTES study is to compare two modes of cognitive training to treatment as usual for patients, using cognition, behavior, and functioning as outcomes.

Population

The population used in this study includes patients aged 16-35 receiving treatment at a NAVIGATE-model first episode psychosis clinic.

Study Design

This study is a randomized clinical trial, in which participants are assigned to 3 arms:

  • Targeted Cognitive Training (TCT): 30 hours over 12 weeks
  • General Cognitive Exercises (GCE): 30 hours over 12 weeks
  • Treatment as Usual (TAU)
