Cognitive Training Delivered Remotely to Individuals with Psychosis (ROAM)

The purpose of this study is to use remote methods and scalable interactive neurotechnology to generate important data on the potential for remote targeted cognitive treatment in people with psychosis. We are investigating whether combining computer-based cognitive exercises or computer games from a program called BHQ, and a motivational intervention (PRIME mobile application), may help people with psychosis learn new thinking skills, and increase motivation and quality of life. The PRIME app may help people make and achieve goals, and includes a safe community to connect with others who may have similar interests and struggles, and a motivational coach who will provide support via messaging. Participants will complete 16 weeks of the cognitive training exercises or computer games along with the PRIME application. A series of appointments to assess cognition, symptoms, and functioning will be completed online, and via FaceTime or Skype before and after the intervention, and 6 months after completing the intervention.

Objective

The objective of this study is to assess the utility of remote mobile interventions for psychosis and their impact on behavior, cognition, and functioning.

Population

The population being studied includes 18-60 year olds with a psychotic illness. Participants are recruited from across the world.

Study Design

This study is a randomized Clinical Trial in which participants are assigned to complete 30 hours of:
