This study was a multi-site randomized controlled trial sponsored by Posit Science, Inc, and funded by the NIMH. The University of Minnesota was one of four sites in this study, along with UCLA, the Greater Los Angeles VA, and Rush University. The goal of this study was to examine the efficacy of an experimental software program designed to improve social cognition in adults with schizophrenia. Participants were randomly assigned to 30 hours of the social training or to 30 hours of a commercially available computerized cognitive training as an active control. Participants were assessed in cognition, social cognition, functioning, symptoms and behavior at baseline, post-training, and at 3 month follow up.
