Dr. Fitzpatrick is a Research Manager in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Fitzpatrick has a BS in psychology from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a PhD in neuroscience from Northwestern University. She subsequently held academic positions at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL, and Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. She then held a position Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) as contractor support in the Biological Technologies Office (BTO) where she aided in the development, coordination, and management of multiple cutting-edge research and technology development programs encompassing 20+ cross-disciplinary research teams and representing over $400M in funding.
